Pachube.com founder wins a World Technology Award!

We're delighted to announce, following the post a couple of weeks ago about the nomination, that Pachube.com founder Usman Haque is co-winner of the World Technology Award 2009 in the arts category, along with Adam Somlai-Fischer. Other winners of the award on the night were Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg (Marketing Communications), President Paul Kagame, Republic of Rwanda (Policy) and one of our biggest heroes: Lawrence Lessig (Law)!

Nominations were provided by the membership of the World Technology Network which is composed of over 1000 scientists, entrepreneurs, financiers, journalists, academics, policy makers, etc., and over 200 organizations/companies, spread out over 60 countries. Criteria required putting forward those "who are doing the innovative work of 'the greatest likely long-term significance' in their fields. They are those creating the 21st century."
Here's to a Pachube-powered 21st century!
